Who We Are

Jerrinja are Coastal Saltwater People of the Shoalhaven and Kiama LGA regional area. Our "Jerrinja Wandi Wandian Country” is on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The Jerrinja Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) is a registered not-for-profit organisation founded on the 14th September 1994 under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW).

We are one of the largest private land title landholders within our Jerrinja LALC boundary. Our Jerrinja LALC boundary extends from Gerroa in the north down to Jervis Bay and further down to Narrawallee Creek past Lake Conjola on the South Coast of NSW.

Our Jerrinja Local Aboriginal Land Council organisation includes committed Jerrinja Elders and Community Members, a committed and skilled Jerrinja LALC Board, committed Chief Executive Officer and staff, plus committed Caring for Country employees who are passionate, respectful and focused on protecting, conserving and managing our lands, waters, cultural heritage and environments for our people, the broader community and for our future generations.

Roseby Park – Roseby Park at Orient Point was gazetted as a Aboriginal reserve in the early 1900’s. A number of cottages were shipped via barge from the Coolangatta Estate and in the 1970’s new homes were built after support with submissions to government.

Please note: we are working towards developing a "history" section of this website which will contain more detailed information on the topics touched on above.
