We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Jerrinja, Wandi Wandian and associated clan groups and the distinct interconnection of languages spoken across the groups that encompass the Jerrinja Local Aboriginal Land Council boundaries, including Dharumba, Dhurga and Dharawal.
We pay our respect to these lands that provide for us.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the ancestors and their intrinsic knowledge of country that walked and managed these lands for generations before us. Their knowledge, stories, and guardianship of our sacred places remain central to the identity of this Country, including Cullunghutti, Jerrinja, Bundarwa, Wollomboola, and the many significant places across Jerrinja country.
We acknowledge and recognise all Aboriginal people who have come from their own country and who have now come to call this country their home. We acknowledge all those who have generational ties to this area, and those who have recently come to call this place their home, who support our causes.
We acknowledge the resilience of our Elders past and present who are and have been our knowledge holders, teachers and pioneers.
We acknowledge our youth who are our hope for a brighter and stronger future and who will be our future leaders.
We acknowledge and pay our respect to our members who have gone before us and recognise their contribution to our people and community and move forward with our aspirations for self-determination, justice and truth telling.
