We were pleased to host the Minister for Indigenous Australians, Senator the Hon Malandirri McCarthy at the Jerrinja community on Tuesday 27th May 2025.
Sen. McCarthy spent time with our CEO, Deputy Chair, and Ranger Crew learning about our caring for Country work and touring Gumbaralarng Nursery. This was a short (less than a week) notice visit that was part of the Minister's tour of local NIAA funded organisations, however we used this opportunity to bring to her attention urgent community needs, such as the poor state of housing and the need for funding for repairs and maintenance as well as new housing stock. We requested fair treatment.
You can view Sen. McCarthy's Facebook reel from the visit here.
